Stoat107 viewssee the two shots aside of a stoat with it's prey, which is a Redwing, the Stoat dropped the Redwing when it saw me, I moved back a safe distance & when I returned to check the Redwing had gone, so the stoat had obviously returned & carried off it's spoils.

Stoat115 viewsa poor record shot taken before I got my DSLR, this Stoat was coming towards me on one of the paths at Leighton Moss, when it spotted me it dropped it's prey (a redwing) which it returned to get when I moved on.

The Mole catcher has been busy121 viewsTaken a few miles down the road fron Newton Marsh, on a rural lane near Kirkham. It's A distressing image but part of country life. Farmers employ Mole-catchers to rid them of moles, which are a significant pest as their tunneling undermines the structure of the field. It's an old country tradition for the mole-catchers to hang the moles they've caught & killed from a fence on the farmers land to show they've been effective at their job.

Stoat133 viewsI've seen quite a few Stoat (or maybe Weasels?) here, but this was the only one I was quick enough to photograph, as you can see it was taken at range and sadly I had my Sigma 105mm Macro lens fitted at the time, a zoom lens would've made this into a half decent shot :-( .
